Desilting Solutions was engaged by Unity Water to desludge a balance tank at their Caboolture Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Desilting Solutions’ underwater robotic dredge was key to the success of this project as the access to the tank was very limited, and the tank was required to be kept online for the duration of the works.
The works were located inside an operating WWTP space and access was very limited. Desilting Solutions’ compact modular system easily moulded itself around all the available space and works were successfully undertaken without any disruption to the plant operations.
The dredged sludge was recycled back through the head of the plant, with the flow being regulated through the dredge flow management system, in real time consultation, with the plant operators.
The project was successfully completed with the extraction of over 400 tonnes of sludge from the operational balance tank.
